Physiotherapy services are GST-exempt.

We direct-bill most major insurers, including plans through Telus Health, Alberta Blue Cross, Green Shield, Equitable Life, and others. Bring your insurance details to your first visit and we'll handle the paperwork. If we can't direct-bill your plan, you'll receive a receipt to submit for reimbursement. No physician referral is needed for physiotherapy — though some insurance plans require one for reimbursement, so check your policy.

If you've been in a collision, treatment within the first 90 days is covered under Alberta's Section B insurance framework (Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols Regulation). You complete the AB-1 at prior to the appointment and we submit the AB-1 and AB-2 forms with you, and most MVA patients pay nothing out of pocket.

One exception you should know about upfront: some auto insurers require your extended health benefits (EHB) to be used before Section B coverage applies. If your EHB plan direct-bills, you won't notice the difference. But if your plan is "pay and submit" — you pay first, then claim reimbursement — you may have to pay for visits upfront and be reimbursed by your insurer. This requirement comes from the insurance companies, not from us. We'll advocate on your behalf when it happens, but honestly: we don't always win that fight. We'd rather tell you this now than surprise you at the front desk.

You have the right to choose your own physiotherapy clinic — you are not required to use your insurer's "preferred provider."

We accept all major Credit Card. Payment (or the uninsured portion) is due at time of service. Do we charge a fee for using Card? Absolutely not. We believe credit card fee's on our end are a part of doing business - not something the patient should cover.

That's deliberate. Your first visit is where the most important work happens: a full 45–60 minute one-on-one assessment with an FCAMPT-certified physiotherapist, a working diagnosis, and a plan you leave with — plus treatment in the same visit in most cases. With costs rising everywhere, we refuse to let the price of getting a proper diagnosis be the reason someone waits six months with a problem that would have taken six sessions to fix. We keep the assessment accessible; our follow-up fees reflect the level of expertise and fully one-on-one time you get in every session.

We accept WCB claims — let us know when booking that your injury is work-related. We do not hold AHS contracts; if your care falls under an AHS-funded program, we're happy to point you to a clinic that does.

Every appointment at MSKrehab is fully one-on-one — when you book, that time belongs to you and no one else. Recovery also depends on consistency: treatment plans work because sessions build on each other, and a missed week is often a step backward, not a pause. For both reasons, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice and missed appointments are charged the full price of the visit.

If something genuinely unavoidable comes up, call us — we're human, and we'd always rather reschedule you promptly than charge a fee. The best way to protect your recovery (and your wallet) is to treat your physiotherapy appointments the way you'd treat any other medical appointment: as part of the plan, not optional extras.
