Physiotherapy in Southwest Calgary

MSK Rehab is a southwest Calgary physiotherapy clinic on Macleod Trail at Centre 89, in the Haysboro–Kingsland corridor between Heritage Drive and Southland Drive. From here we're a short, straight drive for most of the SW — down Macleod Trail, Elbow Drive, or 14th Street SW — which is exactly why patients from more than two dozen southwest communities choose us for hands-on, results-focused care. No referral is required to start, and there's parking at the door.

What separates us from the other physiotherapy clinics in southwest Calgary isn't a slogan — it's equipment and scope most clinics simply don't have under one roof.

What makes our SW Calgary clinic different?

  • Expert, one-on-one physiotherapy care. Experienced physiotherapists who assess thoroughly and treat hands-on, in private treatment rooms — your full session is with your therapist, not handed off to an aide on a crowded clinic floor.

  • Motor-vehicle-accident (MVA) recovery. A focus of our clinic: complete rehab after a car accident — whiplash, back and neck injuries — combining hands-on treatment with active rehab to restore function, not just calm symptoms.

  • A full active-rehab gym. Squat rack, treadmill and bike in the clinic, so we rebuild real strength and capacity instead of stopping at a treatment table and a resistance band.

  • Direct billing — MVA Section B, WCB and major insurers. We handle motor-vehicle-accident and work-injury claims in-house, so your care starts without out-of-pocket cost.

Conditions we treat:

We work with the full range of musculoskeletal problems: chronic and acute low-back pain, neck pain, sciatica and disc injuries, whiplash after a collision, sports and overuse injuries, rotator-cuff and other shoulder complaints, arthritic hips and knees, post-surgical recovery after joint replacements, and the desk-and-commute tension so common along the Macleod Trail corridor. We also offer manual therapy, active rehabilitation, and Pillowise pillow fitting for patients whose neck pain follows them into the night.

Physiotherapy after a car accident in SW Calgary

With  Glenmore Trail, Anderson, Southland, and Macleod Trail all bordering the southwest, motor-vehicle collisions are common — and how quickly you start rehab matters. In Alberta, injuries from a car accident are covered under Section B of your auto insurance, and physiotherapy is one of the treatments it pays for. We direct-bill Section B, so you don't wait on reimbursement to begin. The sooner whiplash, back and neck injuries are assessed and treated, the better the typical recovery, so it's worth booking within the first days rather than waiting to "see if it settles."

Common questions from SW Calgary patients

  • Do I need a doctor's referral to see a physiotherapist?

    • No. You can book physiotherapy in Alberta without a referral. Some extended-health plans ask for one to reimburse you, so it's worth checking your policy, but you don't need one to start treatment with us.

  • I was in a car accident a while ago — is it too late to start rehab?

    • Often not. Even months after a collision, lingering neck, back and shoulder problems usually respond to a proper assessment and a structured rehab program. Your auto insurer's Section B benefits may still apply, and we can bill them directly. If you're unsure where your claim stands, call us and we'll help you sort out what's covered before your first visit.

  • Do you direct-bill insurance, MVA and WCB claims?

    • Yes. We direct-bill major extended-health insurers where possible, and we handle motor-vehicle-accident (Section B) and WCB work-injury claims in-house — including the active-rehab portion — so you can begin care without paying up front.

  • Which SW Calgary community is your clinic in?

    • We're on Macleod Trail in the Haysboro–Kingsland corridor, between Heritage Drive and Southland Drive, close to the Southland and Heritage LRT stations — central to the whole southwest.
